Quick Start Guide — WashSignal

What You'll Need

💡 Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
IP addresses of your PDQ LaserWash 360 Plus units
Admin access to your LaserWash web interface
Network connection between your PC and wash units
Network switch with available ports (one per wash bay)

Setup in 6 Simple Steps

Create User Account

Set up a dedicated user account on each LaserWash unit for WashSignal to use.

Install & Launch

Download and install WashSignal. Start your 14-day free trial.

Select Screen Type

Choose your LED display format: 240×80 (wide) or 160×120 (standard).

Configure Wash Bays

Enter IP addresses and credentials for each wash bay you want to monitor.

Verify Connection

Check the dashboard to ensure all wash bays are connected and reporting status.

Customize Settings

Set up brightness schedules, IDLE rotation, and countdown formats to match your brand.

Step 1: Create a Dedicated User Account

⚠️ Important: Why Create a New User?

Create a dedicated user account for WashSignal instead of using the default "owner" account. This prevents conflicts if multiple applications access your LaserWash units simultaneously.

On Each LaserWash Unit:

Open your web browser and navigate to your LaserWash unit's IP address (e.g., http://192.168.1.101)
Log in with your admin credentials
Navigate to: Setup → System → Users
Click Add new user
Configure the new user:
- Username: washsignal (or your preferred name)
- Password: Create a secure password
- Enabled: ✅ Make sure this box is ticked!
- Set appropriate permissions for sign control
Click Save
Repeat for all LaserWash units (use the same username/password for consistency)

💡 Pro Tip

Using the same username and password across all wash units makes configuration easier in WashSignal.

Step 2-6: Configure WashSignal

After installing WashSignal:

Launch the application and start your 14-day trial
Select your screen type in Hardware Settings (240×80 or 160×120)
Configure each wash bay in Wash Settings:
- Enter bay name and IP address
- Enable monitoring
- Enter the username and password you created
Verify connections on the Dashboard - all bays should show "OK" status
Customize settings:
- Set brightness schedule (day/night modes)
- Configure countdown timer format
- Set up IDLE rotation to display promotions
- Upload custom content and logos

🎉 You're All Set!

WashSignal is now monitoring your wash bays and displaying real-time status on your LED signs. The software will automatically:

Show countdown timers during wash cycles
Display "OPEN" status when bays are available
Rotate promotional content during idle time
Adjust brightness based on your schedule
